Frequently Asked Questions

What makes framing with you different?
We are open by appointment only, so are able to give you our undivided attention. We have lots of quality selections for mats and frames, and take the time to help you choose a design you love.  We can accommodate your schedule, whether your appointment time needs to be early in the morning, or later in the evening.  All of our work is fully guaranteed, so if a problem presents, we want to be the first to know.

Do you offer Conservation Framing?

We offer all archival, or acid free, materials. The degree of conservation will be discussed with you when your project is being designed. We routinely use UV protective glass, and only use regular glass upon request. We will make sure your project will look just as good many years down the line.

What is different about glass?
There are several different types of glass available for picture frames, each with a corresponding type of Acrylic.  Premium clear glass is just that...good clear glass that does not protect against UV light damage.  Conservation clear is good clear glass that has a coating that allows it to filter UV light.  Reflection control diffuses the light that causes glare, and comes in a plain or UV protectant form. There is also Museum glass, which is so clear, you can't tell glass is even there. Stop out to see in person the difference!

Do you do Shadowboxes?
We can frame anything you'd like to have protected and displayed. Sports or Military awards and metals make an attractive display, as does vintage clothing or belongings.

Can you cut specialty mats?
We have recently purchased a computerized mat cutter that allows us to cut circle, oval, leaf shaped and other fancy mat openings.  We can also add cut art or lettering to the mat.  We can also now offer name mats, where letters are cut from the mat in such a way that the "frame" photos place behind them.  What a unique present this can make!

What are your hours?
Since we are home based, we can be open whenever we need to be. Call us, and we'll set up a time that is convenient for you.  A call is very important, as we want to make sure you are our only customer, and we can give you as much of our undivided attention as you and your project deserve!

Where are you located?
We are located just south of Red Wing MN, on Hay Creek Trail. That is a continuation of West Avenue/Twin Bluff Road. Our home and gallery are on the right, 1/3 of a mile onto the gravel road.  The sign at the end of the drive marks the spot!

How long does it take to get something framed?
Our usual turn around time is less than one week. At times, if material is not available, it can be slightly longer.
