Laser engraving is the practice of using lasers to engrave or mark objects. The technique does not involve the use of inks, nor does it involve tool bits that contact the engraving surface. These properties distinguish laser engraving from alternative engraving or marking technologies in which bit heads have to be replaced regularly or inks have to be used.
In our engraving shop we have an Epilog Laser Engraver. With this we are able to do unbelievably clear engraving and drawing of letters or pictures on virtually any surface . . . metal, plastic, glass, stone . . . or any other flat surface. We have scores of gift items available for personalization. Our new large format laser can engrave large items, even an entire door! We also offer mechanical engraving for materials that don’t laser well. We are also offering trophies and awards for sports teams and corporate events, as well as branded promotional items.
Directly “burning” images on wood was one of the first uses of engraving lasers. It is used for plaques and awards, as well as for lasering photos. Finished leathers can be laser-engraved producing a look very similar to hot-branding. This technique is used for bracelets, bookmarks, and decorative items. Latex rubber compounds can be laser engraved and used to fabricate inking-stamps.
